I am Helen Beyer 26 years old, I am from Berlin and a trained teacher for Waldorf education. After my education, I decided to go to Sri Lanka for 6 months to work with needy children.

By chance, I came across Barbara and sniffed into her work. Since I had brought a lot of building materials from Germany, I was able to open an "Art Class" with the children of their project. The children came to me, or after their therapy, which they were allowed to enjoy at Barbara, and we painted, cut shapes, or simply played together. In the afternoon, all the children of the day came together and we made a different project every week, such as a mobile, a caterpillar or a common Christmas tree. Because of the free and unshakable nature of the children, I was able to learn a lot from them every week and I am very grateful for the time I was allowed to participate in Barbara's project SAMANALI.

My name is Dr. Susanne Grothey.

After completing my medical studies at the Rheinischen-Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn, I began my specialist training for gynecology and obstetrics at the Marienhospital Euskirchen and continued her work at the Mariahilf Hospital, Bergheim. In 1999,
I finished my education at the Schwelm Municipal Hospital and, in April 2000, I was admitted as a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology in Gevelsberg.

Since then, I have been working as a self-employed person and have developed a number of special areas.

Since 2011, I have also been working regularly in a German clinic in Dubai, where I am in contact with many different cultures.

The real reason why I studied medicine was to devote myself to development aid and so I was already studying in South Africa in a Homeland for 6 months.

Since 2014 I have worked in a development project of Unterplast Germany e.V. in a urigynaecological project in Nepal. There I am at least once a year and help the country's population with lowering complaints or is used there generally as "All round" doctor.

My vision is to connect with the Barbara project SAMANALI and to examine the needy women who need gynecological assistance free of charge, to offer you regular cancer care and to look after the pregnant women. I already have the necessary equipment and would bring it to Sri Lanka.

Susanne Oberegge

Born 1967, son 14 years old, Physiotherapist since 1989.

Since 1995 Physiotherapist at the Viktor-Frankl-Schule in Frankfurt am Main, school with a focus on physical and motor development, active since 2016 in the consulting and support center within the framework of the inclusion in Frankfurt a.M. Germany.

The project SAMANALI of my dear long-time friend Barbara is impressive and admirable at the same time. With infinite love for the affected children and their families, patience, perseverance, organizational style, professionalism and a great portion of idealism, she has launched a great project for children who are forgotten in the local society and with the help of SAMANALI attention, support and promotion Experience.

The joy and remarkable motor, emotional and social positive developments of the children and the gratitude of the parents is immediately visible and noticeable and gives strength to work with and for the families.

When I visited in October 2016, I had the opportunity to take action myself, which has impressed me a long time and convinced me to support the project Samanali absolutely and to come back.

My name is Dasni Pudara and I come from Hikkaduwa Sri Lanka. At the moment I am training  in Germany at a nursery school. I am in 2 seminar of the year. Before I came to Germany, I did my internship with Barbara in her project SAMANALI. It was very nice time. I've learned a lot from Barbara. This was a good experience for me here in Germany for my training

With children playing, dancing, singing and assistant was my duties. That gave me great pleasure! I thank Barbara for her great work in my country and for all what I learned from her. Thank you dear Barbara and I wish you all the best in your life! Dasni

My name is Hannah Wagner. I had the fortune from November 2015 until February 2016 to be part of Barbaras Heart project SAMANALI

My name is Hannah and I was at the time of my trip i had the age of 20 years.

Now I am 21 years old.

After my FSJ the travel fever took me and on my trip on site I met then Barbara.

Together with Helen we oined the SAMANALI Project and created the Art Class. We painted with the children, made handicraft art and played with them.

We did also various concentration games – depending on the child and their daily form. After danceclass, we did our art class where we carried out various craft activities. We did that with up to 10 children. From finger colors to mobile- everything was there!

My personal highlight, a part next to the wonderful kids, of course, was

Carnival Day in January, where we were able to partecipate. We prepared everything to make the day perfect. We helped wherever we were needed. There was a lot of beautiful things like Facepainting, Magician, bouncy castles, cans, candy flow – everything was there. It was wonderful for me to see illuminating the children's eyes.

It was a great experience – I miss very often this time and I will never forget!!

Hannah
